Barrett Ward, the founder of the Mocha Club, had the idea to start a US business called FashionABLE when he visited Ethiopia to speak with Cherry Teketel, the founder of WAR. Cherry was having trouble finding jobs for the women she had been helping to rehabilitate, so Barrett proposed creating a company that would buy scarves from Ellilta Products, a local Ethiopian business. Ellilta Products now provides scarves to FashionABLE and other clients internationally, and the profits from these sales are reinvested in WAR to help rehabilitate more women and grow their weaving business.
