East African Pharmaceuticals PLC (EAP) is one of the first privately owned joint venture direct foreign investment Pharmaceutical factories established in 1996 GC by British and Sudanese investors with the intention of producing human and veterinary medicines. Initially, the company was producing in one line; which after 2004 was expanded to three lines. It is located in Addis Ababa at Gourd Shola Industrial area near Jakrose homes. It was the first of its kind to manufacture veterinary medicines mainly for Ethiopian market and partially for selected neighbouring African Countries and the Middle East Markets. In March 2012, the ownership of the Company is transferred to Sudanese, Saudi and Yemeni investors and since then it has increased its production capacity by introducing advanced pharmaceutical machinery of a very high output. The company has a well established Production, QA, R&D, QC and Engineering Departments, with a highly experienced senior technical staff to diligently carry out its manufacturing activities. Currently, the facility of the Company has two human production lines (Tablet & Capsule) and a veterinary line with all the necessary machinery for production. All its three production lines are separated with a unidirectional flow and fulfils GMP requirements.
