Qualification:
BSc Degree in laboratory technology, Biology, or related fields.
Experience:
Minimum of three years relevant experience in lab analysis.

The Carter Center country office in Ethiopia, which assists the Government of Ethiopia in Disease Elimination and Eradication Programs is looking for a qualified professional to fill the following short-term vacancy for its health Program:

Required Number: 4 (Four)
Terms of Employment: Four Months Short Term Contract.
Reports to: Lab Liaison Officer
Main responsibilities:
Background
The Onchocerciasis Molecular laboratory is playing a major role of generating laboratory-based evidence that shows whether parasites are circulating within vector (blackfly) and host (human) to put recommendations and actions to the onchocerciasis elimination program in the Country.
This year, it is expected to provide more lab evidence from new Stop MDA and Impact assessment areas for EOEEAC decision and recommendations. Besides due to the delay of lab reagents the lab has interrupted the analysis for three months this increases the workload in lab team. Hence, due to the shortage of the time and additional lab assignments to be completed, the RB-LF core team have recommended to recruit the two contracts employ to do the pre analysis work, which will easy up the workload in a team and increase productivity as well.
Objectives:
The objective of recruiting lab assistances is to speed up the lab analysis so that to produce timely inputs for 9th EOEEA- committee
Scope of Assignment:
1. The selected individual shall do the preanalytical works related to OV 16 ELISA assays as directed by the Mol lab liaison head
2. The following list of activities are supposed to be done by recruited lab assistances:
a. Punching the DBS samples for day today OV 16 ELISA assays under the lab team supervision
b. Elution of punched DBS samples
c. Coating Plates with antigen
d. Preparation of elution buffer
e. Collect distilled water from the distiller machine for daily consumption
